When Cannabis legalization became a reality, Canopy needed a brand and voice that could continue to support its medical patients while servicing and educating practitioners and their needs. In 2016 Canopy growth acquired Mettrum, a cannabis manufacturer based in the GTA. The brief was to rebrand Mettrum to Spectrum and create a friendly, approachable brand that would champion their Spectrum chart, an easy way to identify and dose cannabis to patients using 6 primary colours. Since relaunching the new identity in 2017, Spectrum Therapeutics has grown internationally and currently prides itself on being the leading brand in the medical cannabis space.
